Guangzhou Destroys 178 Cloned Taxis — RFID Solution Explored

Guangzhou municipal authorities have destroyed an additional 178 illegally cloned taxis as part of their ongoing crackdown on unlicensed taxi operations. In parallel, RFID-based electronic vehicle identification systems are being actively explored as a long-term technological solution to combat taxi cloning. UHF RFID tags with unique encrypted identifiers would enable automatic verification of legitimate taxis at key checkpoints throughout the city.
